Ok. I have no furniture in my living room other then a toy story fold-able children's table with three Miss matched chairs. I got rid of my couch over a year ago after a spell of cut, bruises and one trip to the emergency room due to the children's "couch jumping" habits. It was bad.. two boys.. one couch.. and a hard floor. Well they are a bit older now, more disciplined and I am tired of sitting on floor pillows. Coincidentally, and unfortunately.. right when i decided I wanted to buy a couch.. my awesome and much loved 50s vintage table Ive owned for only 3 years.. broke! A leg fell off, and the table is so heavy that it is un fixable. I cant take a chance on it breaking again and falling on one of the kids.. seriously.. It is deadly heavy. So now i find my self redecorating at an odd time of year.. although it is helpful that this coincides with my march tax return.. :) Here's my soon to be new , affordable and comfortable living room.
I love binding blankets. Ive been obsessed since birth, when I was given one as a "welcome to the world, here's anise binding blanket" gift.
I chose this couch from Ikea. Just when I thought my Ikea days were over....I sat on this couch at the store and it is SO comfortable. I can't wait to watch movies, and snuggle with the kids on it.
Handmade throw pillows from one of my favorite Etsy shops
Some neutral and beautiful blown up photography
Im going to use a vintage style pendant light to hang over my new eating table. I think I'm getting a bar height table with four tall chairs to tuck in the corner of my living room. Re designing is fun..

My parents have been taking us out to dinner once a week. It's a nicety lately! We are trying to save money, and it's a rare occasion I take myself out nowadays. Well.. it's getting to be anyway.. well maybe it's not that rare..ok I'm working on it. Though finding stuff to do that is cheap or free has actually been fun. My life lately has reminded me of "the wonder years" episodes I loved so much when i was younger. Hanging around the neighborhood, keeping busy in the house..keeping it simple. Weve also found ourself at the local pet shop now and then... cause looking at animals is entertaining and free! <3

I have to have perfect lighting to get hue's dark face in a picture.... I did not have perfect lighting.

Relaxing days...

Yesterday was a lazy monday:) We stayed inside all but an hour of the evening when we went for a neighborhood bike ride. We read books, made valentines for every one we love and did NOT cook. We snacked on left overs all day which prompted a fridge clean out. :) It was beautiful outside yesterday, and after the cold snap we have had the last two days.. with temperatures in the low 30s plus wind.. It was a really nice change. Now its valentines day:) I got the boys big fluffy teddy bears of course!

By the way. I have no furniture in my house, it looks and feels like i just moved in. But I kind of like the newness of it. Oh, and my house gets really messy by the evening :)

my shoes and Asa's jellycat Racoon from Anthropology
When it rains we like to cuddle up inside and open all the windows. Cool, moist air finds its way through one window and out another, hopefully carrying with it some of my homes stale air. It's been too hot to open the windows the last few days, so while the house aired out we snacked on fruits and watched movies. Then later on, when the boys were playing in their room (It doesn't matter how many times you tell a child not to jump on the bed, they will do it till they are 15) .Asa got hurt and has a little black eye now. He was such a trooper though and was really good about icing it! We took a little trip after that for dinner, and I picked up some ceramic paint pens at Joanns craft store. Hmm I wonder what I'm doing with those... It's actually a pretty neat craft I'll show be posting about later this week. I also came across some shimmery thread thats so pretty I wanted to buy it just to hang on my walls. I restrained myself though. When we got home Asa and I went on an evening bike ride, which was very refreshing. I love the air after it rains. It smells so much cleaner. And I live in a city, I cant imagine if I lived in the country, or the mountains.. oh the mountains.. don't get me started on the mountains.

Ive been on the hunt for pretty blouses since before christmas. So far Ive only acquired 4 tops that are not t shirts... Im a bit over t shirts, and want to class up my black jeans :) Tonight i had some time to browse and I found a lot of good stuff! Check out some of these e-stores a bit further also, Some of these are from a few of my favorite stores. (I'll mark them for you)
This is one of my favorites shops on etsy, Supayana. Check them out by clicking on the images above
Above are two different shops, each a favorite of mine. The one on the left is the handmade classy/modern minx shop and on the right a newer store called CrownsClothing also handmade but with more of a classy, fairytale, foreign look. I love them both!!
above: Great shop, lots of vintage/ variety
